INLAND Spring 2015 Pop-Up Shop
On the weekend, we attended the two day pop-up INLAND extravaganza at the beautiful 99 Sudbury Street venue.
INLAND was established to help promote and showcase our Canadian talent in the fashion industry to both industry buyers and consumers alike. With so many skilled designers in Canada, it is not difficult to build an entirely local wardrobe and support our growing fashion industry. INLAND makes it easy, curating incredible designers and artisans all under one roof for an easy and fun shopping experience.
The tunes were jamming, the gourmet food trucks outside wafted yummy smells through the outside areas, the patio bar was a fantastic space for shoppers to mingle and chat, and the space was filled to the brim with awesome wares.
We personally had a very difficult time restraining ourselves to avoid going completely broke.
We met designers from all over Canada who create garments, jewelry, accessories, and shoes.
We saw some of our favorite Montreal designers represented (Elisa C-Rossow, Brit Wacher and Travis Taddeo). It was great to see pieces from their collection in person and to have a nice chat with them!
Some of our favorite offerings from our local Toronto designers:
We are in lust with Eleven Thirty’s black and white dotted calf-skin backpacks. The circular and structured shape, top handle and creamy straps all add up to the perfect sophisticated minimalist bag. This is a year-round piece that needs to be on our back ASAP.
MARY YOUNG had an entire corner filled with soft, delicate undergarments and lounge wear. The lounge shorts are a must-have for days working at home, and the light tank tops are on our summer wardrobe list for every day wear.
We might have sandals on the brain for summer, but a good boot is always on point. Brodawka and Friends has an awesome black and gold ankle boot for a fantastic price point.
It was great seeing Copious designer Carissa so soon after FAT to congratulate her on her fantastic collection. Her booth was chock-full of the effortless and playful fashions that we had the pleasure of seeing on the runway recently. This label is a definite go-to for all your feminine summer needs.
We loved the high-end IPhone cases from FELONY CASE. With geometric shapes, snake skin in brilliant colors, and smooth marble, what isn’t to love? As Samsung Galaxy owners we just wish that they would branch into making cases for Android users. *hint hint*
Made For Margaret’s Bedrock Collection was in full display. The gem collection may be oversized, but the pieces are very light and wearable. We adore the dazzling rings!
May28th had a fantastic outdoor booth with a wide selection of custom watches. But we couldn’t take our eyes off those insanely awesome bright, printed bike seat covers. Riding our bikes will never be the same again.
St. Lawrence Luggage’s bags are soft and supple, beautifully lined, spacious for the gal who has to carry her life on her shoulder, and so sleek. We love the over-the-shoulder bucket bag, a true classic.
We’ve been fans of The Leather Atelier for a while now. How can one not with their fun and quirky collection of pouches and accessories?
In the quest for the perfect summer time swimsuit, we may have finally reached success! Leilanni is a fantastic Toronto-based swimwear label. We love the simple lines of their one-piece suits and are torn between the palm tree pattern or the metallic paint strokes. Decisions, decisions.
We just want to wrap ourselves up in the comfy, soft but still sleek sweatshirts from Kania. Our Creative Director felt like an uber-cool ninja in one of the black wrap sweaters.
